Step One Remove All Coverings
Don't forget to remove all bed coverings including your mattress pad.

Step Two Measure the Length
Your box spring will be the same length so you will not have to re-measure for it.

Step Three Measure the Width
If you have trouble measuring your width by yourself, try using a book to hold your measuring tape in place across the bed or ask a friend to assist you by holding the end of your measuring tape as the edge of the top cording of the mattress.

Step Four Measure the Height
You can very easily measure the height of your box spring as well at this point without even having to lift up your mattress. Make sure to measure to the crown of the mattress. A good way to get an accurate measurement here is to lay a ruler on the top of the mattress and measure to the ruler. If you measure just to the cording on a pillow-top mattress, you may under estimate the height of your mattress.
