Bed Bugs Invading New York Suburbs?
Perhaps New York suburbanites prefer the term migrating instead of invading when it come to bed bugs. It sounds more manageable. The New Rochelle Police department was invaded, oops! visited by bed bugs. They were hanging out in the cell blocks with the prisoners. Due to their complaints they brought in an exterminator to get rid of them. How many prisoners and police department workers accidentally took bed bugs home with them? Bed bugs were even found in the police cars.
Recently, articles have mentioned the evasion; well arrival of the bed bugs in suburbs including New York City communities. But maybe the critters have been there for awhile. Most people don’t want the stigma that comes from having bed bugs in the home. Property values go down and suddenly everybody has to go to their bassoon lesson when bed bug victims ask them over for dinner. People wave at them from a distance at work; no more firm handshakes.
With all of the suburb commuters working in New York City (researchers claim the city has more than five bed bugs) and going home perhaps the bed bug problem is worse in the suburbs than has been reported. Hopefully not.
Pest control for bed bugs can eliminate them.
