The Squirrel That Came For Tea Part I Of III
I never imagined when I agreed to house sit for a friend that I would ever run into any problems. Things were going along just fine until one fateful day. My young daughter happened into the house first. She went up the stairs and heard noises, but thought it was the cats that we were caring for. Within minutes she ran screaming and crying down the stairs saying…..Wooster (the cat) has gone crazy! He is hanging from the ceiling!!! Knowing full well that a cat cannot hang from a 14 foot ceiling, I approached with caution. Was it a bat? A bird? A opossum? A squirrel? Needless to say, I was hoping for none of the above. Maybe a crazy cat was the best option!
Upon entering the upstairs of the house, I had my first ever close up encounter with a crazed and confused squirrel. I quickly ran from room to room shutting all doors so that his enclosed space would be smaller. I then went about opening all doors and windows in hopes that it would simply leave on its own. No such luck for me. Then I found the broom and lots of swooshing ensued. That darn squirrel was going crazy running all over everything. I took in the scene of the room. It was a mess. Plants were thrown about like play toys. Dishes knocked off the countertops. Books off of book shelves.
Please check back on Thursday for the continuation to this post.
