NYC residents with bed bug problems have heroes waiting to rescue them from the nasty bed bugs. No, they don’t wear special outfits or have x-ray vision. Give a warm greeting to the red house ants, centipedes, cockroaches, assassin bugs and the biggest hero of them all the Thanatos flavidus Simon , also known as a spider. All these insects enjoy tasty bed bug snacks.

The red house ants are simply vulgar creatures. They enjoy dismembering bed bugs and placing the body pieces in their nests. It’s not clear if the bed bug parts are used for snacks or  to add some elegance to the abode.

The Thanatos flavidus Simon, its actual name (I have not been drinking martinis) is a classy spider, he grabs a bed bug without permission and proceeds to suck out the bed bugs blood and body fluids. 

Supposedly a gang of the spiders eliminated bed bugs from an Athenian suburb.  I don’t know if this is an Athenian legend. Perhaps the story is dripping with insincerity.

After some contemplating,  some pondering and surmising I have concluded it’s better to call a NYC bed bugs pest control professional than by a few pounds of spiders, ants, cockroaches and centipedes  and let them invade your New York City or New Jersey residence in search of tasty bed bugs.
