NJ, NYC Bed Bugs – Who is Responsible?

NJ and NYC residents might want take some time and review the statements of the their government and public health officials regarding the dreaded bed bugs situation. From the statements, residents can get a sense of what their officials consider to be the  problems associated with NJ and NYC bed bugs. They can also get an understanding of what officials would consider a successful outcome and who is accountable for taking specific actions and making specific policies. If these types of assessments can’t be made by NJ and NYC residents and people living in other bed bug infested cities then city officials need to be held accountable for a lack of planning and action.

A plan needs to be made which indicates which city departments are responsible for specific tasks that must be done in order to destroy the bed bug population. The plan should also mention specifics regarding the efforts to be made by the NJ and NYC residents, business owners and landlords. The major city officials of bed bug infested municipalities need to get involved in creating a comprehensive battle plan against the little critters before they take over the nation.

If you have bed bugs ask a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control expert to destroy them for you.

What’s In My Attic?

Attics are one of the most overlooked and often ignored areas in most homes.  If you are like me, you only go into the attic to bring down or put up holiday decorations.  Because it is widely overlooked, it is an easy place for unwanted wildlife to take up residence.

The first signs that you will most likely notice that a critter has been living above you is often discovered in the form of the pitter patter of little feet or tiny pellet droppings.  Squirrels, raccoons or other rodents will often enter attics through vents, loose boards or the eaves of your home.  Squirrels and raccoons have even been known to chew through soffits and shingles to get inside.  Mice are so small; they can squeeze into the smallest of spaces.

These pests do not seam to be happy just living among us.  Their fantastically sharp teeth cause considerable damage by chewing on electrical wires.  Exposed wires hold a tremendous fire hazard for homeowners.  Many homeowners have also found that they need to replace the insulation in their attics once unwanted critters move in.  Insulation can be damaged by the parasites on the wildlife, nesting, or feces and urine.

When dealing with nuisance wildlife, you will need to eliminate access to their nesting sites, remove the nests and feces, disinfect the area to remove parasites and deodorize the attic. This is a job that you want to call out the professionals for.  Call a nuisance wildlife expert that can help rid your life of rodents and squirrels living in your attic.

NJ, NYC Bed Bugs Maps

Most NJ and NYC residents would probably like the opportunity to study a map of their city which indicates bed bug infested areas and bed bug free zones. In 2006 the New York Times published such a map. The color coded map was a little difficult to analyze, yet even with the proper evaluation of the map the conclusion of which NYC areas are bed bugs free might be wrong.

A lot of bed bugs infestations are not reported. Also, if the map is not updated every week the map will be out of date because the bed bugs are excellent travelers. Based on statistics from other municipalities some experts suggest that the majority of bed bug infestations treated by pest control experts will not be reported to the city’s health department. So a NJ or NYC resident could look at his bed bug map and decide to move to a particular street because the map shows it’s a bed bugs free zone. However, after moving in the neighborhood he realizes it’s filled with the critters and thus is inspired to say something like “Dang!”

If you have bed bugs let a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control professional destroy them for you.

Barking Up A Storm For Bed Bugs

Working dogs have been helping mankind for many years.  You can find sight assistance dogs, bomb sniffing dogs, criminal seeking dogs, rescue dogs, arson detection dogs, drug seeking dogs and search dogs.  They all work for the simple joy of a treat, a new toy, a belly rub or a pat on the head.  They all perform their “job” any time they are asked to with amazing accuracy.

Stern Environmental now has a new weapon to help battle bed bugs…bed bug detection dogs.  These K-9 detectives are trained to sniff out bed bugs in homes, hotel rooms and apartments faster than a speeding bullet.  Well not really that fast, but they can search an entire room in only a few minutes.  Exterminators can take a couple of hours to search a home so the comparison is unbelievable. Bed bug detection dogs can detect bed bugs in any location in your home.  Bed bugs will hide not only in beds, but in other furniture, computers, telephones, walls, and outlets to name a few.  They are sneaky little pests, but they can’t hide from the powerful nose of these trained dogs.

Contact Stern Environmental Group right away so they can unleash their new bed bug detection dog arsenal upon your bed bugs!

NJ, NYC Apartments and the Dreaded Bed Bugs

If you live in a NJ or NYC apartment building don’t be shy about telling your landlord you have bed bugs in your dwelling. Yes, it’s a little embarrassing and you don’t want to be called the “bed bug man” or the “bed bug lady” by your neighbors but getting a professional pest control exterminator to immediately destroy them is the best thing to do. Bed bugs are amazing at finding ways to go through walls and infest other NJ, NYC apartment units. It’s unfair to your neighbors and it’s unfair to the property owner who will have to spend a lot of money on bed bugs exterminating after the bed bugs have spread throughout the building.

Don’t think you can take care of the problem by using a can of insect spray purchased from a store because they don’t work on bed bugs. You can’t get rid of them by playing loud music or enticing them out of their hiding places with croutons. A female can lay up to 500 eggs and those little bed bugs will invade your neighbors’ units and then spread all over the complex. If you have bed bugs get a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control company to the residence as soon as possible.
