U.S. Bed Bugs Legislation Might be Good for NYC
The residents of Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Manhattan might be glad to hear that U.S. Congressman G K Butterfield of North Carolina will probably introduce bed bugs legislation this month. The citizens of NYC and NJ have the opportunity to contact their House of Representatives member and encourage them to sign on as an original cosponsor of the bill. The National Pest Management Association is trying to build support for the bed bugs legislation named “Don’t Let the Bed Bugs Bite Act of 2009.” Perhaps they should of said odious or disgusting bed bugs to ensure its approval!
The bill relies on funds that have already been authorized and existing initiatives which have successful track records. It deals with lodging facilities and residential housing. It creates a state bed bug inspection grant program to inspect lodging facilities. The legislation requires public housing agencies to manage bed bugs similar to their requirements of managing cockroaches. I wonder if any body is called a bed bug manager? Perhaps they get together for exciting festivities. The legislation will also allow preventive health and health services block grants to be utilized for bed bug prevention and control.
If you have bed bugs ask a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control professional to destroy them.
