NYC Bed Bugs and City Budgets

Budget problems may hamper the fight against bed bugs. NYC residents may be interested to know that Cincinnati has been one of the leading cities regarding having a plan in the fight against bed bugs, however seniors are complaining that their landlord has done nothing about their terrible bed bugs situation. The health department mentioned they did have a program that checks for bed bugs and also educates residents on their options, however the program was cut months ago due to the city slashing their budget.

The problem is so bad at this apartment building for seniors that local hospitals have been calling the health department looking for assistance for the residents of this bed bug infested building. The residents claim they have been asking for help for years to no avail. One woman is using her bottle of bug spray on the critters but it won’t kill bed bugs it will just make them move all over her residence. Hopefully bed bug support won’t be discarded in NJ, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Manhattan due to budget cuts. NYC must support the bed bugs elimination effort or the problem will get much worse.

If you have bed bugs ask a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control expert to destroy them.

The Bed Bug Oven – You’ve Never Cooked Like This Before!

the-bug-ovenIt might sound like a funny name, but there is a new product available that will help commercial establishments win the war against bed bugs once and for all.  The JDL 2000  Bug Oven is proving to be a fantastic addition in the fight against bed bug infestations.

Made in Pennsylvania by Maxisoft, Inc., The Bed Bug Oven allows a business to bake those bed bugs out of just about anything that is infested.  As a consumer who travels, I would feel safer knowing that hotels were baking their blankets, comforters and pillows to remove any potential or existing bed bugs and their eggs, before my arrival.  Using the oven would also save on the costly investment of bedding products as many businesses currently throw away infested material.  The Bed Bug Oven is closet size, but can be ordered in custom sizes to fit anyone’s need.  This product continues to gain in popularity as hotels and cruise ships want to protect their patrons from the scourge of bed bugs.

For the average consumer wanting a similar type of item; you should check out the Packtite Portable Bed Bug Killing Heat Chamber.  This revolutionary product heats up from 120 to 145 degrees and kills bed bugs and their eggs in one treatment.  It is perfect for luggage, clothing, toys, sensitive fabrics and items that cannot be washed in water.  One of the best things to know about the Packtite is that it is portable so you can take it anywhere.  No need to ever bring bed bugs home with you!  The Packtite is perfect for a family who is worried about bed bug infestations, a family that travels, and certainly for a family with a child away at college.

If you are suffering from bed bugs or want to prevent infestations, you should consider The Bed Bug Oven or the Packtite Portable Bed Bug Killing Heat Chamber for your business or home.

Bug Dome – Bed Bug Monitoring/Trap Device

The Bed Bug Dome

The Bed Bug Dome

The alluring Bug Dome will be available beginning in the summer of 2009. The bed bug monitor/trap utilizes a heating element to attract the odious bed bugs to the device. The dome also is coated with a special attractant to entice the critters to the trap. When the bed bugs arrive on the dome trap they become stuck due to the glue material that is in the trap section. When the jail is full of bed bugs you can toss the trap and put in a new one.

The Bug Dome can be plugged into a wall outlet. The device is made by the company that created the bed bug killing Cryonite. Pricing is not yet available. Yes, some of you may be willing to pay a million dollars for a device that will trap bed bugs and keep them from attacking you but we believe the price will be substantially less! Families may want to consider purchasing enough for all their bed rooms. Since it’s manufactured by the people who make the highly effective Cryonite I am looking forward to the products arrival.

Here is more information on the bed bug monitoring/trap for your review.

If you have bed bugs ask a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control professional to destroy them.

Protect Your Bed

bed-bug-disposal-bagAnybody who has ever suffered from bed bug infestations can attest to the fact that eliminating bed bugs can be a difficult endeavor.  Many people have thrown away valuable furniture in an effort to free their homes of bed bugs.  Although tossing out the furniture might be considered common practice, the good news is that there is another alternative available.

Protect-A-Bed, the leader in bed bug bite proof mattress encasements, will allow you to save your mattress from the dumpster.  These premium mattress and box spring covers are lab certified to be bed bug bite proof.   They offer a special zipper protection that is the perfect solution to keeping any remaining bed bugs from escaping from your mattress or box spring.  The great news is that you will rest easier with these soft and comfy, breathable, water resistant and bed bug bite proof encasements.

If you decide that you must get rid of your infested bedding you will need to be careful to not transfer bed bugs throughout your entire home.  Before you move your bedding, you should check out the Bedding Storage and Disposal Bags made by Protect-A-Bed.  These heavy duty plastic bags will allow you to safely carry your bedding off your property and not leave any pesky bugs dropping off to regroup in your home.  They also serve as a fantastic way to store or move your furniture from home to home.  These bags are waterproof and will keep dirt and dust off your mattress and box spring until the time you need them next.

Federal Bed Bugs Legislation?

The Don’t Let the Bed Bugs Bite Act of 2009 was introduced by GK Butterfield, a North Carolina congressman. The legislation apparently does not authorize new appropriations and does not create new government programs or bureaucracies.

It does establish a state bed bug inspection grant program which the states can use to help fund inspections of lodging facilities. It expands an existing program managed by the Department of Health and Human Services which provides funds to states for the control of rodents and cockroaches. The legislation would allow some of the funds to be used to destroy the odious bed bugs. It also directs the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate the public health implications of those little critters known as bed bugs.

Well, the legislation doesn’t provide a bed bug sniffing Beagle for every home but since it will allow the allocation of some already existing funds to be used to destroy bed bugs it sounds like a good addition to the fight against bed bugs. NJ, NY residents may want to contact their congressman and find out if he is going to support the legislation.

If you have bed bugs ask a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control professional to eliminate them.
