College Kids, Odious Bed Bugs and Furniture
Residents of NJ and NYC and all over the country may be interested to know that Colorado State University students can no longer grab a free used sofa in a Fort Collins city sponsored event. Since 2001 the city of Fort Collins has asked residents to place their old sofas and chairs in a parking lot and invited Colorado State University students to select their free furniture. About six hundred couches pass through the two day event. Why did they stop it? The dreaded bed bugs are the reason. The city is concerned bed bug infested couches will infest the students’ residents.
The lesson to be learned by parents living in NJ, NYC, the Bronx, Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn and perhaps Delaware (yes, indeed) is to make sure your college kids are not trying to save money by taking peoples’ unwanted couches and other types of furniture just because they don’t see any bed bugs. The odious insects are great at hiding. The process of getting rid of bed bugs can be expensive. Also, bed bug bites are not a status symbol. Also, your college kids may unintentionally bring them to your NJ or NYC house. The critters are worse than loud music.
If you have bed bugs ask a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control expert to eliminate them.
