Regulating Pesticides And The Importance Of Cryonite® Part I Of II
There is always a debate in the United States about whether the government is regulating what pesticides are available and the pesticide application process too much or too little. Add into the argument the fact that DDT is no longer available in the US, and you can have a heated discussion for hours.
I recently read an article about the how pesticides are being managed, or better yet, not managed, in Abu Dhabi. It seems that in their municipality, only one pest control company is approved by the government to apply pesticides to parks, beaches, and other government owned buildings. This company is regulated by the government. All other pest control companies are not regulated, and as a result, citizens are at risk.
It was recently reported that two babies died in Abu Dhabi because their home was fumigated for bed bugs by an unregulated pest control company. In another incident, entire families became ill in an apartment building, because of the chemicals sprayed by another unregulated pest control company. It’s understandable that the parents of the children who became ill are now questioning the government as to why there are not any regulations for pest control companies.
Please check back on Thursday for the conclusion.
