Douglas Stern of Stern Environmental Group, and his incredible team of talented bed bug experts, is extremely good at hunting down and eradicating New York City and New Jersey bed bug infestations.   Stern Environmental Group understands that it takes more than just one attack position when it comes to conquering the dreaded blood sucking parasites that are invading so many houses, apartments, retail stores, hotels, motels and travelers in 2010.  To keep ahead of other NYC pest control professionals, Stern Environmental Group is always on a quest to find new products that will help customers in their fight against bed bug infestations.

Stop by Stern Environmental Group to see the new bed bug products that we are watching and evaluating.  Once we decide that the product is good enough to be sold to you, then it will be offered.

One product that we are currently evaluating is called The Bed Bug Moat.  This interesting new product will easily blend into most any décor as it comes in either brown/black or ivory.  If you have a bed bug infestation, bed bugs can find you because they are attracted by the CO2 you emit.  These sneaky pests will seek you out once you are fast asleep.  The Bed Bug Moat has a textured exterior wall which allows blood seeking bed bugs to easily climb up the exterior walls of the moat.  Once inside the Moat, the bed bugs become trapped because of the polished slick interior wall that they encounter.  The innovative design of The Bed Bug Moat keeps bed bugs from ever being able to reach the legs of beds, couches, and chairs so you can sleep comfortably and relax in peace.

The Bed Bug Moat is a great and affordable tool for homeowners, apartments, hospitals, hotels and motels.  It can be used for early detection of a bed bug infestation and/or after the treatment of bed bugs has commenced so that you can monitor any bed bug activity.

Stay in touch with the best NYC and NJ pest control professional to see when this product will be released for sale.

NYC Bed Bugs Can Wreck A Relationship

Without at doubt, New York City is one of the best cities in the world.  But living with NYC bed bugs, is quite unpleasant.   Previously under control in years past, bed bugs are taking up residence in NYC bedrooms once again.  In fact, they are spreading like wildfire!  Because of their recent resurgence, many people in NYC and across the United States are just now finding out how emotionally taxing these nocturnal nibblers can be.  New Yorker’s, as well as anyone else who has ever endured a bed bug infestation, will certainly attest that bed bugs can put a huge strain on a relationship and on the dating scene.

Bed bugs are now a scary part of the dating world.  Facebook recently ran a poll among single adults asking a variety of questions about dating a person with bed bugs and the results are a bit shocking.  56% of the responders said that they would leave their date if they noticed bed bug bites on his or her skin.  Almost 50% of those who responded said that they would use bed bugs as an excuse to get out of a bad date, and 45% of people would cancel a date if someone admitted to a bed bug infestation.  Additionally, 47% of the people surveyed admitted that they would ask their date if they had bed bugs before going back to their home.

For NYC single folks, the potential of encountering bed bugs and then transporting them back home makes dating life more difficult than ever before.  People used to have to worry about if the person you met at a bar, club, gym, subway, or park was just a nice person to get to know.  Now singles are reporting that they are being grilled by potential suitors as to whether or not they have bed bugs at their home.  The non-official poll shows that both men and women are concerned with bringing bed bugs home with them, but women seem to ask the tough questions far more than the men do.

NYC bed bug infestations can be so personally draining that marriages have ended due to the added stress that the bed bug infestation cause.  According to CNN, exterminators are reporting that they have witnessed firsthand how relationships have been destroyed by the blood suckers.

Don’t let bed bugs ruin your relationship in NYC.  Got bed bugs?  Can an experienced pest control professional for speedy service!

Bed Bugs – Search and Destroy ASAP

Successfully fighting an outbreak of bed bugs requires two back-to-back steps. First, locating where the bugs are hiding is essential. Whether you employ bug-sniffing dogs or other methods, you want to make sure you do a thorough job of inspecting your infected room as well as the adjoining rooms. If you don’t find all the areas the critters are hiding, exterminating won’t solve your problem. You will simply kill part of the population and allow the other living population to move in later.

The second step is the actual extermination. According to experts, bug-treatment should be done immediately after the search is completed, or at the very least within 48 hours. Otherwise, the bugs could migrate to other areas in the home or office and you’ll miss exterminating in their new hiding place.

An unfortunate example of this occurred recently with an office used by NYC Transit in Long Island City. Several months after they exterminated, the bugs were back biting employees. Apparently, they waited a week after discovering the hiding places of the bed bugs. Only then did they begin extermination. Of course, by that time, it was highly likely that the bugs had colonized new areas in the office which were missed in the original treatment.

Not only do you need to treat the areas where bed bugs are found, but commonly you should additionally treat the adjoining rooms and rooms that are above and below. Bed bugs can travel under drywall and through ventilation ducts. Once they are entrenched it really takes careful inspection and vigilance in treatment to find all the hiding places.

If you have a bed bug infestation, make sure to hire bed bug experts who know how to get the job done right!

Keep NJ Squirrels Out Of Your Home Or Business

An interesting story just emerged from England about a wild pack of criminals that have been running through a town cutting a huge amount of expensive telephone lines and an extraordinary amount of anti-lock braking system cables on cars.  Who could be committing such a heinous crime?  Why would someone want to cause such trouble and risk injuring so many people?  The mystery has been solved!  The answer finally came after “high visibility police patrols were carried out.”  It was discovered that these crimes were not that of some knife wielding vandal seeking revenge against society; but instead wild squirrels have gone nuts!  They were the culprits in the crimes!  Squirrels can be very destructive pests indeed.

New Jersey squirrels are known for the funny backyard antics for certain.  They playfully romp to and fro and entertain us with their tree leaping agility.

The problem with NJ squirrels is that they have a propensity to gnaw on anything that they can sink their always growing teeth into.  Once a squirrel has entered a home, they can cause considerable damage as well.  In Illinois, a homeowner just returned home to find the interior of his home in shambles, and his television and water turned on when a way-ward squirrel found himself trapped inside his humble abode.

Squirrels can create serious problems for New Jersey homeowners when they decide to take up residence in the attic during the wintertime.  These cleaver creatures can easily chew through the strongest of roofing materials, or rip through soffits or vents to gain entry into NJ homes or businesses.  Once inside, they contaminate the insulation with their urine, feces, and parasite filled nesting materials.  New Jersey squirrels should also be a huge concern to residents because they are known for chewing through electrical wires and have caused fires in homes and businesses.  Additionally, NJ squirrels pose a problem for residents because they will bite when handled or cornered, and they can carry the rabies virus.

Squirrel removal should only be handled by a licensed NJ pest control professional that is trained in wildlife removal services.  Contact Stern Environmental Group for expert and humane squirrel removal services in Secaucus, New Jersey, the Greater New York City Metro and Connecticut Regions.
