The National Bed Bug Forum Delivers On Bed Bug Education

According to the National Pest Management Association spokeswoman, Missy Henriksen, “The results of the 2010 comprehensive Global Bed Bug Study suggest that we are on the threshold of a bed bug pandemic, not just in the United States, but around the world.”

For NYC pest control experts who are on the front line of fighting these bloodsucking pests, this might not come as a huge surprise, but for most of America, it likely will be.

Broomfield, Colorado is the place to be if you have an interest in learning about the ongoing bed bug eradication efforts that have been occurring in the United States.  Pest control experts from around the United States have traveled from near and far to the National Bed Bug Forum at the Omni Interlocken Resort.  The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) has gone to great efforts to assemble top industry leaders, bed bug researches, doctors, and insurance experts to provide valuable information about bed bugs.

More than 500 people are in attendance for the three day conference to hear interesting and technical information about bed bugs.  According to Missy Henriksen, the NPMA’s spokeswoman, the subject matter of the conference was prompted by an industry wide “clamoring for information” about the little vampires that are plaguing homes, hospitals, movie theaters, hotels, and retail stores across the United States.  The sessions include “The Universe of Detection”, “The Biology of Bed Bugs”, and “Getting Customers to Bite: How to Successfully Market Your Bed Bug Services.”

In a press release, the NPMA announced that they would be asking the federal government for monetary help to fight bed bugs.  In particular, the NPMA would like the government to contribute money towards research and development.  Recognizing that bed bug infestations are too costly for many lower income earning families to afford, the NPMA would also like the federal government to help fund those that cannot afford eradication services.

The valuable information that pest control experts will gain by attending the National Bed Bug Forum will certainly help as they fight their own battles against the bloodsuckers once they return back home.  As New York City bed bug infestations continue to rise, you can count on Stern Environmental Group to stay well informed and use the best products to eradicate the little vampires!
