Bed Bug Eradication Requires A Joint Effort Part I Of II
New Jersey pest control experts say that it takes a joint effort from all parties involved when a bed bug infestation is in a home or at a business establishment. Failure to communicate or follow specific bed bug removal protocol, which should be established by a licensed pest control company and/or government agencies, will perpetuate the spread of bed bugs from place to place. Here’s a recent example of the lack of communication and a lack of protocol being followed…
A family in Virginia, with two young children, moved into an apartment building last December. On March 20th, they noticed bed bugs crawling on their mattress. They immediately notified their apartment management office to have a pest control professional come out.
The family disposed of all of their bedding and repeatedly washed their clothing to try to get rid of the bloodsuckers. The father was told by his employer that he must take unpaid leave from work due to the bed bug infestation in his home. His employer was afraid that he would bring bed bugs into the homes that he was working in or that he would transport them with him and infest his co-workers vehicles or homes.
Out of frustration, according to reports, the wife stood in front of the apartment complex with a sign reading “$99 move-in special, come live with the bed bugs at Jefferson East.” She was promised quick help if she returned inside. According to reports, the management office sent an exterminator on March 31st.
When asked, the apartment management office claims that only two units within the complex have a bed bug infestation problem, yet many residents are claiming that they are enduring the nighttime attacks by the little vampires.
Please check back on Wednesday for the conclusion.
