NJ, NYC Bed Bugs – Do They Affect Everyone?

NJ and NYC bed bugs seem to affect people of all ages and income levels, which is the case all over the country. However, some experts predict that unless the Federal government comes to the rescue of its citizens that the low income people will suffer more from bed bugs.

The critters love the blood of the rich and poor and even the blood of rude people but wealthy and middle income people have the money to hire NJ and NYC bed bugs pest control experts. The low income families living in single unit houses often cannot afford the expense of bed bug eradication and have to adjust to having hundreds of annoying new roommates and hope they go away; perhaps by attaching themselves to a visiting wealthy person (perhaps not).

For apartment renters, the building owners are obligated to get rid of pest problems but often they pass the cost to the apartment residents, thus low income renters often don’t mention bed bugs infestations to management.

One bed bug expert has stated that over the last three years the number of bed bug cases for lower income families has dramatically increased and it might end up being more of a lower income family issue in the future.

Spread The Word, Not The Bed Bugs While At College Part I Of II

As the new school year arrives, thousands of teens are heading off to college.  They flock to dorms, apartments, sorority and frat houses, anticipating new adventures. They are looking forward to learning new things, meeting new people, and breaking out on their own for the very first time.

One thing they are not anticipating in their new college life is encountering dreaded bed-bugs!  Bed bugs can take a toll on people emotionally and financially and sadly they are making their presence known at colleges around the United States.  Theses pests love to hide in mattresses, used or rented furniture, picture frames, walls, cracks and crevices, to name a few.  The feeding frenzy on their victim’s occurs at night.  Bed bugs can wait an entire year for their next meal, so empty rooms in the summer are not a problem for them.  They multiply quickly and one bug and turn into a major infestation very quickly.

Bed bugs can hitch a ride on other new students, so it is important to educate all students on how to recognize when bed bugs are present in their new environments.  Knowledge is the key to not spreading bed bugs.

Before any bags are unpacked at college, you should first do a check of your surroundings.

NJ, NYC Bed Bugs Invading Colleges?

Bed bugs have been attacking students at college dormitories all over the country and NYC and NJ college students should learn how to identify bed bugs.  Colleges are highly susceptible to bed bugs since students come from all over the country and many parts of the world and live in the dormitories.

Stanford and Ohio State and other colleges had to evacuate dormitories in order to attempt to exterminate the insects.

Hopefully college students are not embarrassed about having bed bugs for roommates and decide to use bug sprays or foggers in their rooms as apposed to telling school authorities about the problem. The spray and foggers don’t kill bed bugs, they just cause them to spread about the room and find more hiding places.

Experts recommend that student use bed bug matress encasements on their beds. The encasements trap the bed bugs and prevent them from snacking on the student. Also, if bed bugs come out from the crevices they will leave a trail of blood spots and fecal matter on the encasements which will be easy to see. Early identification of bed bugs can make it easier to get rid of them.
