NYC bed bugs are quite a problem and they are a major issue in Toronto. A municipal councilor of Toronto named Howard Moscoe wants the city’s health board to classify bed bugs as a health hazard even though they don’t spread diseases.

One pest control company in Toronto claims they have been fumigating 450 residences per month. Moscoe said bed bugs should be declared a health hazard due to the physical and psychological problems they are causing. Perhaps NYC residents agree with Howard Moscoe. 

One of the major benefits for cities, including NYC to declare bed bugs a heath hazard is that it will allow city officials to force the neighbors of bed bug infested residences to have their residence  fumigated for bed bugs. The critters easily move from one apartment to the neighboring units through cracks and passageways and soon a large portion of the building is infested bringing more misery and substantially increasing the cost of extermination.

Now you have more people accidentally transporting them to places of work and other locations and the bed bugs will be laying eggs all over the place in NYC and finally the city officials will say Oops!
