Should NJ, NYC Hotels Evict Bed Bugs Complainers?

If NJ, NYC hotels follow the lead of Value Place Hotel in Kansas City Missouri, bed bugs complainers will be tossed out of NJ and NYC hotels. Jackie Trotter complained about all the red marks her two children acquired after moving into the hotel. She also mentioned the bed bugs she saw crawling in the sheets.

Jackie was stunned when she learned she was being evicted due to the bed bug problem. A spokesman for the hotel said “The best way that a property can deal with this matter is to isolate and eradicate that source from the property to protect the entire property. We followed the appropriate protocol.”

Hmmm! According to Jackie Trotter the red marks didn’t occur until they entered the hotel room. Perhaps the bed bugs were already in the room! The last thing we need in the world is for people to be afraid of notifying hotel owners of a bed bug problem. The quicker extermination procedures occur the better the chances of getting rid of them. I suppose if she would have complained about soiled towels she would have been kicked out for bringing soiled towels to the hotel room.
