Buying Pesticides Over The Internet Can Be Dangerous Part I Of II

Buying pesticides over the internet can be a dangerous transaction.  When you purchase chemicals in the store, products are tangible.  You can read the instructions, heed the warnings to consumers and learn information about the product as well as the company who produces the product.   If something goes wrong, you have someone to immediately contact.

When purchasing items over the World Wide Web, you don’t have that luxury.  How do you really know what you are purchasing?  Is the pesticide safe?  Should you trust the vendor who is selling the chemicals?  You should even ask yourself if you are qualified to administer these pesticides.  Let’s face it, most of us are not.  Some chemicals are so dangerous that you need special clothing, gloves, masks and tools.

The fact remains that you don’t actually know what you are receiving when you buy pesticides online.  Many states have laws about applications of pesticides for good reason.  The EPA has specific guidelines for all approved chemicals, but enforcing the rules with online businesses, that come and go each day, can be quite challenging.

Many pesticides should only be applied by licensed professionals, yet many dangerous products can be found by a simple click of your mouse and a credit card.
