Buying Pesticides Over The Internet Can Be Dangerous Part II Of II

Continuing from the post on Tuesday…

Many vendors have been caught and fined for selling illegal pesticides online.  The problem is that no state has the means to go after all of the sales that transpire on a daily basis.  Even as big as the EPA is, they cannot keep up with sales.  Keep in mind; it is the job of your local state and the federal government to keep you safe.

It seems that even EBAY cannot control everything that is sold on their site.  They are having a tough time keeping up with the sales of drugs and guns and sadly the pesticide issues are taking a back seat.

I recently read a question posted on a NYC website that was quite frightening.  The young woman lives in NYC and was being plagued by bed bugs in her apartment.  She wanted to know how to safely apply DDT to her apartment.  You might wonder how this girl was to come upon such an illegal concoction.  It seems that her mother, who lives in another country, was planning on smuggling DDT in her suitcase to JFK.  Boy I would hate to be on her flight and I would also hate to be her neighbor!

Consumers beware….don’t buy pesticides online.  They might be illegal and they most certainly are dangerous.  Leave the pesticide applications to the professionals.  Your health and the health of others depend on it!  If you are in need of a NY and NJ licensed pest professional, click here.
