Insights Into NJ, NYC Bed Bugs

There has been a lot of discussions about bed bugs in NJ and NYC. Even the NYC city council members are talking about them. What are bed bugs? Well they are insects which are included in the order of Hemiptera. These types of insects have a proboscis in their mouth which allows them to suck fluids. Unfortunately, bed bugs don’t like to suck down properly chilled martinis. This knowledge doesn’t help you destroy the critters but it can look impressive in emails.

Yes indeed bed bugs bite. Female bed bugs need a blood meal in order to produce eggs. The nymphs need a blood meal to molt to the next stage.

The adult bed bugs are about 7 millimeters long while the babies are only a couple of millimeters in length. The babies have a translucent yellow appearance. The adults are a dark red brown and have sideburns (just a rumor).

Bed bugs can be seen with human eyes but sometimes people actually see dust mites and not the bloodsucking bed bugs. Then they’re happy when they learn they actually have dust mites which some may find to be an odd reaction.

If you have bed bugs ask a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control professional to eliminate them.
