Should the EPA Lift the Ban on NYC Bed Bugs Chemicals?

What can be done about the bed bugs living in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx? The chemicals that were effective on NYC bed bugs were banned by the EPA years ago. Some of these effective chemicals are still being used in other countries, however the bed bugs have built up a resistance to those pesticides. Thus, due to the little critters traveling from other countries to America and NYC lifting the ban on these chemicals might not be a very effective approach. A lot of the bed bugs would probably survive due to the genetic transfer of the resistance from their foreign relatives.

Lois Rossi the Director of the Registration Division of the EPA’s Office of Pesticide Program stated they’re concerned that people will utilize pesticides on their mattresses that are not registered for that use. Unfortunately, people are trying to save money and are using products that don’t work and may be dangerous to the health of their family.

Some people are actually illegally selling bed bug products over the Internet and claiming how wonderful they are. These products could be very dangerous and have nothing to do with killing bed bugs. It’s prudent to ask a NJ, NYC bed bugs pest control professional to get rid of them.
