Continuing from Thursday…
People who have bed bugs might be thinking that these critters might be the answer to the bed bug problem, but they would be very wrong. Unfortunately these bugs grow to over ½ inch long and will bite humans as well as eat bed bugs. The bite is quite painful and resembles a snake bite! Like bed bugs, they are nocturnal feeders. They spend the daylight hours in protected, dry locations such as under heat registers, under cabinets and cupboards, and inside wall voids and attics. Their life span is usually about one year long.
The good news is that it is unlikely that you will find huge amounts of these bugs at your home. But if you do, and you are unfortunate enough to get bit, you will certainly know they are there. If you have bed bugs, it only stands to reason that your home might be a place for the masked bed bug hunter to come and hang out.
According to Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences, “If you believe you have multiple masked hunters, consult with a licensed pest control company for treatment.” Stern Environmental has licensed pest control specialists ready to tackle your pest problem. Contact them today.
