Bed Bugs…Like A Real Stephen King Book!

I love to read a good book!  Seeing the details of the story come to life as the images are painted by the words of the author is the best thing about reading.  Reading a scary book might be your type of reading style, but nobody expects that a scary book will really come to life with creepy bloodsucking creatures lurking among the pages of the book, waiting for the moment to slurp up human blood.

Bed bugs are popping up at various libraries throughout the United States, and many American’s are worried about encountering the little vampires long after the borrowed book has been returned. Bed bugs are easy to pick up from libraries as they can hide for an extensive time in the book bindings or between the pages of books.

It is not surprising that libraries would be hit hard by bed bug infestations as many people have a tendency to take their books to bed, read, and fall asleep with the book on or near the bedside.  Bed bugs wait until people are fast asleep and responding to body heat and the CO2 that is exhaled, bed bugs will easily find their intended victim.  After a bed bug feeds, it retreats to a hiding spot where it can digest its food (blood).

Libraries across the United States are finding themselves face to face with bed bugs that are hiding in the book bindings or even in between the pages of the books.  Once bed bugs have made their way into a library, they can be difficult to control report Manhattan pest control professionals.  In addition to the books, many libraries have found bed bugs in cloth covered chairs and couches, on book shelving units, under tabletops, and in carpeted areas.

Although you are more likely to pick up bed bugs while visiting a movie theater, hotel, or motel, library patrons should check books for bed bugs prior to returning home with the latest hot novel.
